With summer in full swing, there’s no better time than the present to host an alfresco fete for those both far and near. So, in honor of Luxury Stores at Amazon’s launch with beloved Brazillian designer Alexandre Birman, Sally Singer gathered an intimate group of art lovers and fashion folk for dinner under the stars at LongHouse Reserve. One of East Hampton’s hidden gems, LongHouse Reserve is home to an impressive collection of fine art and over 60 contemporary sculptures featuring pieces from Yoko Ono, Willem de Kooning, and Buckminster, to name a few. Guests including Aaron Philip, Martha Hunt, Richie Shazam, Maria Alia Al-Sadek, Carole Radziwill, and Adam Kenworthy were welcomed to beautiful grounds with summery cocktails and canapés, which were enjoyed by the lily pond and dipping pool. Many of the guests in attendance traveled across the country to join the special evening dedicated to Luxury Stores at Amazon’s new lineup of Latin American designers, including Silvia Tscherassi, Adriana Degreas, Maygel Coronel, Sensi Studio, Monica Sordo, and House of Bo. Among the buzzy crowd were co-founders of the LAFS, Estefanía Lacayo and Samantha Tams, who were thrilled to see many attendees sporting ensembles by some of their favorite Latin American designers. As the esteemed co-host of the fabulous affair, Birman was eager to share how the special evening came to be. “I don’t believe in coincidence; I believe in synergy,” Birman began, “I met Amazon’s Trisha Gregory and Tamara Lazzaroto at the Latin American Fashion Summit in Miami, and we had an instant connection that led us here today. I’m honored to be a part of the Amazon family and represent Latin American designers, especially Brazillian designers for Luxury Stores.”A longtime fan of Birman, Singer recalled the first time she encountered a pair of his famous pumps. “I was at Vogue when his first collection arrived, and there was such passion in the office because the shoes were both really sexy and really substantial,” Singer explained. “You could walk all day in them, and they weren’t a derivative of anything else. They were a rare form of well-designed, stylish, and comfortable shoes–so good that you thought you were in on a secret.”“I want my shoes to be worn by everyone and to last a lifetime,” Birman smiled. “Most of all, I hope the guests who are wearing my designs tonight will go home with happy feet.”Surrounded by a selection of Birman designs, a gorgeous tablescape dressed with bountiful flowers in a secret garden was the picturesque setting for dinner. On the menu, a local Balsam Farm salad and decadent wild salmon dish were equally delicious appetizers followed by a pea and ricotta tortellini for the main course. Before guests bid the night adieu, model and singer-songwriter Karen Elson surprised everyone with a special performance. Her acoustic cover of Robyn’s hit single “Dancing on My Own” was an instant crowd-pleaser. From the majestic ambiance filled with an inspiring community of leaders to the awe-inspiring art of all forms on display, this garden party might be the most talked-about soirée of the summer.Read more at: https://www.formaldressau.com/collections/formal-dresses-sydney | https://www.formaldressau.com/collections/formal-dresses-brisbane
